Do you Trust HIM?

Greetings from Words of Life Evangelism.

I want to welcome you back, and tell you how happy and blessed I am you are here with us today.
This is something that God has laid on my heart today, because I believe that this is a very pertinent question He asks everyone, and that we should be asking ourselves everyday.

As we go through life and our walk with the Lord, He asks us to do things or calls us to preform certain tasks that are totally against culture. Or it’s something we don’t think is possible or how in the world it will work out. The hard part to wrap your head, around is that this doesn’t just apply to believers. This goes for non-believers as well.
There are a lot of things in the world that want to work against God…to try and disprove Him…try and prove that He doesn’t exist…let alone that He cares for us. I’ve got news for you…we have walked the non-believing path to where we think we are better off without God, and that we can do it on our own.

God didn’t want it this way. The Lord has and is trying everything that He can, to get hold of the non believer, to show them that He loves them. So when non-believers encounter believers there is this stigmatism that exists. It is the belief is that believers have it all together…that they are perfect. Nothing could be further from the truth.
God doesn’t want you to have it all together before you come to Him. If that was possible, then He wouldn’t have had to give up Jesus Christ as the living sacrifice to save us from our sins. We can’t do this on our own. Everyone has been in those places where things have gotten rough, where finances weren’t enough, where someone is sick and needs healing, where families are falling apart, and the family needs to be held together. God can do all of that.
This is The Truth…God heals. Be it financial, family, spiritual, mental, whatever you can come up with, there isn’t anything He can’t take care of.

Non-believers have a problem with this because they automatically have an incident where The Lord didn’t take care of them. Because in their minds if God didn’t take care of it the way they wanted or were believing He would, then it’s not true. He didn’t heal my family…we got divorced, or my mom or dad or grandma or someone died. Why didn’t He heal them.
Listen, just because God didn’t heal people or the situation the way you wanted Him to, doesn’t mean its wasn’t taken care of. It sure doesn’t mean that He doesn’t exist.

You can’t put God in a box and say “OK God if you want me to do this you have to do this…that’s how it has to be”. God isn’t your magic lamp that you just rub when you need something. He sure didn’t say that we were going to go through life without issues, quite the opposite. John 16:33

33“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”

I know what you are thinking. (Person): You don’t know me and what I’m going through.

You’re right, I don’t know you and what you are going through, but the one who made the everything does. The One True God knows exactly what you are going through.

(Person): Yeah but what he has asked me to do is to hard. How can He ask me to do this?

If God has asked you to do something then you will not be doing it alone. God is never going to leave you in a valley that you can’t get out of all, you have to do is trust Him.

I know that people go through rough things in life. I get that, I totally understand that, because I have gone through my fair share.

Before you say that God doesn’t understand, I want you to think about something.

God has called many people to do a great many things and all these things have been hard. The thing I want you to get is this…the men and women He called weren’t any different from you and I. The difference is, they were willing to be obedient to the Lord. If God has called you to do something, He’s not going to give up until you listen. And even then, He’s not going to give up, He’ll never give up.
Sometimes it takes a long time for things to play out. Sometimes it’s right away, but if God calls you and it takes years, and it can, you just keep trusting God. God asks some hard things sometimes but He will never leave you alone to deal with it. He’s walking right with you every step of the way.

There was a man that God called a long time ago and this man’s name was Abraham. God asked him to do a lot of hard things and Abraham obeyed.

The one thing that I want to focus on today is the fact when God called Abraham to sacrifice his one and only son. (sound familiar)?
Look at this with me.
Genesis 22:1-18

1Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, “Abraham!”
“Here I am,” he replied.

2Then God said, “Take your son, your only son, whom you love—Isaac—and go to the region of Moriah. Sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on a mountain I will show you.”

3Early the next morning Abraham got up and loaded his donkey. He took with him two of his servants and his son Isaac. When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him about. 4On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance. 5He said to his servants, “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.”

6Abraham took the wood for the burnt offering and placed it on his son Isaac, and he himself carried the fire and the knife. As the two of them went on together, 7Isaac spoke up and said to his father Abraham, “Father?”

“Yes, my son?” Abraham replied.

“The fire and wood are here,” Isaac said, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”

8Abraham answered, “God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son.” And the two of them went on together.

9When they reached the place God had told him about, Abraham built an altar there and arranged the wood on it. He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. 10Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. 11But the angel of the Lord called out to him from heaven, “Abraham! Abraham!”

“Here I am,” he replied.

12“Do not lay a hand on the boy,” he said. “Do not do anything to him. Now I know that you fear God, because you have not withheld from me your son, your only son.”

13Abraham looked up and there in a thicket he saw a rama caught by its horns. He went over and took the ram and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. 14So Abraham called that place The Lord Will Provide. And to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the Lord it will be provided.”

15The angel of the Lord called to Abraham from heaven a second time 16and said, “I swear by myself, declares the Lord, that because you have done this and have not withheld your son, your only son, 17I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will take possession of the cities of their enemies, 18and through your offspringb all nations on earth will be blessed, cbecause you have obeyed me.”

Did you see it in there? Abraham trusted God with everything even his family.

Look at verse 5-8 gain.

Abraham knew that his son was not going to be sacrificed because look at verse 5, look what it says. “Stay here with the donkey while I and the boy go over there. We will worship and then we will come back to you.”

You see Abraham knew that everything was going to be okay because he knew God would never let him down. He even said in verse 8, God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering my son.
Regardless of what the world tells you or wants you to believe through all the stuff. God is real, God does exist, God loves you and that means all of you no matter what you have done, He still loves you. No matter what you look like, God loves you and wants to be with you. The only thing standing between a relationship with you and God is you. God has given all of you the choice, what you do with that choice is totally up to you.
Will you trust Him with everything?

Will you tell him and believe “not my will Father but your will be done.”

Will you finally take that step out in faith and tell God you need Him and want to have a relationship with Him?

Maybe you are a believer and you haven’t been walking in step with the Lord like you should be, that can all change right now. All you have to do is ask.

God is not going to quit on you, He is going to keep coming. It is never too late, not until you draw your last breath is it to late. God never promised us a second on earth, every second is a gift. Don’t waste the gift that was given. Your life is so precious to God and He loves you so much.

Do You Trust Him?
