Don’t be deceived!

Greetings from Words of Life Evangelism. There are many beliefs regarding God surrounding our world today, that tell you there are lots of ways to get to heaven. This is not a new thought process, this has been going on since the beginning of time. You can go through the scriptures and find proof of that. The problem is, that it wasn’t true then and it’s not true now.

People want to water down God’s word because sometimes it hurts too much to look at His word head on.
People have come up with all kind of excuses not to follow God. Jesus even told us that people would rather stay in the darkness than step into the light. The reason behind that is, it’s easier not to have to be accountable for anything, and if you can’t see the problem then you can ignore it. Truth be told, you can get hurt more by walking around in the darkness, than if you just turn the light on.

The devil is going to try everything he can to keep as many people away from God as he can. He will do that by any means necessary. That means he will use what ever tricks he can to entice you to keep your eyes off of God. Satan’s greatest trick in the world is making people believe that he doesn’t exist, or that God’s word isn’t true.
This has been his trick ever since the Garden of Eden, to get people to turn away from God through any means necessary.

When Jesus was teaching His disciples He addressed the coming of the age, or what was going to happen before Jesus returned. Matthew 24:1-35

1Jesus left the temple and was walking away when his disciples came up to him to call his attention to its buildings. 2“Do you see all these things?” he asked. “Truly I tell you, not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down.”

3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”

4Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8All these are the beginning of birth pains.

9“Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

15“So when you see standing in the holy place ‘the abomination that causes desolation,’a spoken of through the prophet Daniel—let the reader understand— 16then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. 17Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house. 18Let no one in the field go back to get their cloak. 19How dreadful it will be in those days for pregnant women and nursing mothers! 20Pray that your flight will not take place in winter or on the Sabbath. 21For then there will be great distress, unequaled from the beginning of the world until now—and never to be equaled again.

22“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. 23At that time if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Messiah!’ or, ‘There he is!’ do not believe it. 24For false messiahs and false prophets will appear and perform great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. 25See, I have told you ahead of time.

26“So if anyone tells you, ‘There he is, out in the wilderness,’ do not go out; or, ‘Here he is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it. 27For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man. 28Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

29“Immediately after the distress of those days

“ ‘the sun will be darkened,

and the moon will not give its light;

the stars will fall from the sky,

and the heavenly bodies will be shaken.’b

30“Then will appear the sign of the Son of Man in heaven. And then all the peoples of the earthc will mourn when they see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of heaven, with power and great glory.d 31And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.

32“Now learn this lesson from the fig tree: As soon as its twigs get tender and its leaves come out, you know that summer is near. 33Even so, when you see all these things, you know that ite is near, right at the door. 34Truly I tell you, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. 35Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Jesus knew that things were going to get bad for us after He went back to the Father. If you think about it, that shows you how much He loves us. He didn’t leave us out in the cold after He went back to the Father, He sent another like Him, in the Holy Spirit, to help us. He warned us about what was going to happen before He comes back to get us. But He also gave us help in the Holy Spirit.
John 14:26

26But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Listen, there are a lot of things people try to do to disprove God. They want to throw up all kinds of objections as the reasons why they don’t believe or follow God.

People just can’t explain God away. Just because you say something doesn’t exist, doesn’t make it true.

Jesus told us not to be deceived, that people will tell us things aren’t true, to try and take our sight off of God. We have to be mindful and wise of our steps and allow the Holy Spirit to open our hearts and move in us. This world is a mess and the One that came to save us is waiting for us all to come to Him.

Do not be deceived by false gods, do not allow yourself to be turned away from God. If you are a believer, hold tight to God. Stay in His word, keep in constant prayer, so that when those hard times arise, you will be able to stand strong and hold onto God as tightly as you can.

God is never going to let you go once He has you. His word is clear on that fact.

Paul wrote in Romans 8:38-39

38For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,k neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

I believe that once God has us that there is nothing that is going to tear us away from Him. That is how strong His love is for us. He has fought for us for so long, that once we come to Him, and He has us, He’s never letting us go.

Satan will try his very best to get us to turn away from God he will throw a lot of things in your path. Be it financial issues, family issues, faith issues, etecera. No matter what the case may be, God is never going to let you go.

Do not be deceived by the world, hold strong to God.

1John 4:1-6

1Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. 2This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, 3but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is coming and even now is already in the world.

4You, dear children, are from God and have overcome them, because the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world. 5They are from the world and therefore speak from the viewpoint of the world, and the world listens to them. 6We are from God, and whoever knows God listens to us; but whoever is not from God does not listen to us. This is how we recognize the Spirita of truth and the spirit of falsehood.

Life gets messy, but there is nothing out there that God can’t deal with or get you through. You just have to trust Him. If you trust Him, He will never let you down. Test what people tell you for yourself, don’t just go by what they tell you. Because if you just go by what people tell you, and you don’t seek God for the answer or search His word, you are in danger. God has given you the way out of the deception, and that way is through Jesus Christ. All you have to do is ask.

I pray that you are blessed by this and that God gets the Glory. Because that is what Words of Life Evangelism is all about. That we can reach out and seek those who are searching for Jesus Christ, and make disciples of all nations.

As always, if there is anything I can pray for you or with you about, please don’t hesitate to get hold of me by one of the many means that I have; Facebook, Google+, or this site. However you choose to get hold of me, just contact me.
