He will give you rest!

Good Morning from Words of Life Evangelism. I am so blessed that you are here with us today.

As we go through our lives, more times than not, we find ourselves unable to find enough hours in the day to get things done. We have become a fast paced world, especially in the western culture.
We judge success by how much we get done and the larger the numbers you have, the more successful you are. The problem with this is, when we are driven by numbers or results, physically and especially spiritually, we lose focus and we get tired.
However we can’t slow down because then our results are affected and that can’t happen. We need results or so we have been made to believe.
Now don’t get me wrong, we all have a job to do and we all need to get results. But the difference is when those results make you lose focus on what’s important. We have gotten so focused on results, that we have lost focus on what is most important. And that focus is God and the relationship He wants to have with each and every one of us.
When you lose focus on God you find yourself getting really tired and sometimes even in the pit of despair, not knowing where to turn or what to do. But you have lost your focus point so it is difficult to find your way back.
You have to take time to rest in everything you do. God did not want you to wear yourself out to the point of exhaustion, to where you can’t even think straight. He wants us to rest and be renewed.
None of this is more important than when we are talking about when you are trying to do everything on your own. Because I have news for you, you can’t do it on your own.
You can go through life and do what the world tells you and just follow the rat race…which, don’t get me wrong…we all have to work to provide.
God’s word is clear (10For even when we were with you, we gave you this rule: The one who is unwilling to work shall not eat.) So you could live this way, and just continue to try and make it on your own, or you can seek out the one who wants to help you, and become leader and controller of your life, and He will give you rest now and for eternity.
Matthew 11:25-30
25At that time Jesus said, I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26Yes, Father, for this is what you were pleased to do.
27 All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him.
28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.
He says to come to Him and he will give us rest. We don’t have to try and do this on our own. That is an impossible task because when we try to do this on our own we have no hope. Because let’s face it…if God doesn’t exist like the world would like us to believe…then where is your hope? Where can you find rest? The only place to find hope is in Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 1:3-7
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, 4and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, 5who through faith are shielded by Gods power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. 6In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. 7These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith”of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire”may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed.
The only way we can find rest and hope is through Jesus Christ…there is no other way. You can try and find other ways like the world tells us…or you can try and do it all on your own…but God doesn’t want you to do that. He wants you to come to Him and rest, and put your trust in Him. He gave us everything we need and will ever need. God is our provider and He showed us that through giving up His son for us.
God himself came and chose to die for us so that we didn’t have to pay the debt we owed because of our sin. He paid that debt for every single person past, present and future, because He loves us. He loves you even if you don’t believe that He exists. He still loves you, no matter your story or objections God still loves you. And He wants a relationship with you.
The only person who is stopping you from having a relationship with Jesus Christ is you. No one else can make the decision for you. Jesus is calling you to come to Him so that He can give you rest, so He can help you throughout your life.
Jesus is calling you are you willing to listen?
Don’t wait to answer Him because we are not guaranteed a second in this life every second we have is a gift. Come to Him and he will give you rest.
I am so blessed you that you have joined us. I am continuing to pray for you and if there is ever anything that I can pray with you about, or you just have a question, please get hold of me. Thank you for joining us.
Remember God loves you and so do I!
